Poor nutrition, unsafe food handling, non-communicable diseases and HIV/AIDS continue to affect many households in the Rwenzori sub-region.
AFRIDA brings together professionals, including medical professionals, who use their skills to raise health awareness in communities, take free medical services to those who need them and strengthen local health facilities.

Community sessions on balanced diets, good feeding practices and safe handling, preparation and storage of food.
Awareness on conditions such as hypertension and diabetes, healthy lifestyles and the value of early screening.
Awareness on prevention, testing and treatment, and reducing stigma against people living with HIV.
Medical outreaches led by AFRIDA medical professionals, offering free services in communities.
Equipment, mattresses and supplies for public health facilities through AFRIDA’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR).
Other community health issues identified together with local leaders and health workers.
Through AFRIDA’s CSR, members have supported communities and health facilities across the region, including:
Our most recent free medical camp, led by AFRIDA medical professionals, served about 1,000 clients.
Donation of mattresses to improve the comfort and care of admitted patients.
Support with theatre equipment and mattresses.
Donation of assorted items to patients.
All these interventions are funded through AFRIDA’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) programme, supported by our members and partners.
