Amazing Friends for Development Association (AFRIDA) is a unique association of Youthful career and Business Professionals that chose to come together to foster unity and development among themselves and other members of their communities. AFRIDA started on the 19th of July 2019 as SWEET HOME family at the birth day celebrations of Mr. Geoffrey Bwambale in Kabojja Kampala. It is on this day that one of the members in attendance Mr. Ndanda Vincent requested members to allow him start a WhatsApp group, add them and then keep socializing as members of one family.

Pioneer members of SWEET HOME included; Mr. Vincent Ndanda, Mr. Geoffrey Bwambale, Mr. Samuel Kisuki, Mr. Joard Ndungo Mubatsi, Mr. Festo Musoro Musabe, Mr. Jonas Bwambale, Ms. Noreen Muhindo, Ms. Juliet Ithungu, Ms. Lovice Mbambu, Mr. Joachim Mumbere Kasese, Ms. Ritah Masika Ndungo, Veronica Kabugho, Christine Muhindo, Christine Ithungu and Dr. Milton Kisuki. The group started growing and several other members were added. At a social gathering organized by the SWEET HOME pioneers held on the 26th of May 2021, members resolved that reorganization of the family be done and a tentative executive committee was inaugurated.

 It is this committee that then recommended the change of name from SWEET HOME family to Amazing Friends Development Association to pave way for legal registration of the association. The name AFRIDA was arrived at after a thorough search that culminated into members voting for the best from the different nominated names.
